Born in Unionville, on Sept. 24, 1913, daughter of the late Giovanni and Antonia Carlino Izzo. Mrs. Acabbo had worked for the University of New Haven for many years until her retirement; was past president and member of the Parish Visitors of Mary Immaculate of New York for over 50 years; member of the New Haven Council of Catholic Women; parishioner and Eucharistic Minister of St. Paul Church of West Haven.
She was the mother of Ralph Acabbo and Anthony Acabbo both of Hamden and the late John Acabbo; mother-in-law of Georgiana Acabbo, of North Haven; grandmother of Michael, Kaitlin and Pamela Acabbo, Jennifer (Michael) Feinberg; great-grandmother of Eli and Sarah Feinberg. He was predeceased by her siblings, Rosina Gaudino, Luigi, Raffael, Stefano, Giuseppe and Alessio Izzo.
Her funeral procession left the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., Tuesday, Feb. 17. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St. Paul Church. Interment was followed in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Parish Visitors of Mary Immaculate, New York or St. Paul Church, West Haven.
