Allegra Violet "Sally" (Sousley) Alexander was born on March 13, 1918 in Indiana, the daughter of Frederic Arthur Sousley (1895–1966) and Agnes May (Knapp) Sousley (1889–1945).

She was married on September 11, 1939 to William Earl "Bill" Alexander (1920–1998), the son of George Earl Alexander (1883–1971) and Leathie Myrtle (Burris) Alexander (1887–1971).

A member of Hendersonville First United Methodist Church in Hendersonville, Sumner County, Tennessee since 1955, she was a member of The Order of The Eastern Star, a registered nurse at Sumner Memorial Hospital and an instructor of the Certified Nursing Technicians Class and the LPN Class. Also for many years she was a camp nurse at Camp Wood Haven for Girl Scouts and known as "Sally Sweetwater" at Camp Mudjekeewis in Maine.

Sally was 96 years old when she passed away in May 2014.

Preceded in death by her husband, she was survived by three married daughters, nine grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, five 2nd-great-grandchildren, and by her only sister.

Burial was in Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
