Carl Burton Allen, 75, passed away Friday, Sept. 15, 2017 at Brookdale of Goodlettsville. Born in Springfield, January 5, 1942, Carl was the son of the late Alvin Carl Allen and Dorothy Jackson Allen. He was also preceded in death by his step-father, Jerome Osborne; his first wife, Ruby Pauline Allen; his sister, Marlyn Montgomery; his son-in-law, Robbie Burton; and his nieces, Dorothy Ann Adams and Karen Jones. Carl was retired from Cargill Steel where he was a supervisor and his co-workers called him “Frosty”. In is free time, Carl enjoyed camping and spending time with his family. He lived in Ridgetop and was a member of the Rock Springs Baptist Church in Greenbrier. He enjoyed visiting shut-ins as a representative of his church and generally had a love for all people. He was a caring, kind and gentle father, husband, grandfather and friend. Carl is survived by his daughter, Lisa Burton and her children Mandy, Heather (Mark) Burton and Rob (Danielle) Burton; his brother Kenneth (Hazel) Hinkle; his sisters, Loretta (Leon) Jones and Gena (James) Adams; his nephews, Chris Jones and Alex Jones; his nieces, Velvet (Greg) Morgan; his second wife, Patsy Gifford Barbee-Allen; his bonus family; William (Kay) Barbee, Pam (Randy) Stewart, Missy (Chris) Holland; Grandchildren, B.J. (Elizabeth) Barbee, Justin (Brittney), Brittany (Daniel) Becker, Kayla (Michael) Quinn, Tyde Kimble, Crimson Kimble, Noah Holland, Maggie Holland; and 9 “almost 10” Great-grandchildren.
Interment at Hendersonville Memory Gardens. Serving as Pallbearers will be, Bobby Dorris, Dink Grogan, Tommy Cunningham, Rob Burton, Chirs Jones, B.J. Barbee, Justin Stewart, Mickey Acker, Tyde Kimble and Jared Schutt; Honorary Pallbearers will be Joey Henderson, Mike Otto, Joe Ford, Bob Wouten, Jamie Aldridge and Bud Wilkerson.
