Marvin C. Carlson, age 91, of Tulsa, Oklahoma and formerly of Knox City and Brady, Texas passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2016 in Tulsa.

He was born January 24, 1925 in Brady, Texas to Conrad Carlson & Mami Carlson.

Marvin served in the US Marine Corps during WWII.

He married Viola Louise Nobles December 21, 1947 in Brady.

He was a foreman for Lyles and Lyles Construction for 40 years. He was a member of the St. James Methodist Church in Tulsa. He was loved by so many and will be missed.

Funeral services for Marvin Carlson will be held at 10:00am Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels in Brady. Interment with military honors will follow at the East Sweden Cemetery east of Brady. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels in Brady.

Pallbearers will be Casey Miller, Jarrod Miller, Steve Miller, Charles Meyer, Sylvester Roberts, Jimmy Gray, Roger Elliott and Jonny Cook.

Marvin Carlson is survived by his daughters Carolyn Meyer and husband Charles of Galveston, Texas and Angela Miller and husband Dr. Steve of Tulsa, Oklahoma; sisters Lavern Fair of Pasadena, Texas and Violet Elliott of Brady, Texas; grandchildren Casey Miller of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jarrod Miller of Highland, California and Sara Meyer of San Antonio, Texas; great-grandchildren Reinie, Hallie and Ava and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and 3 sisters.
