Mabel E. Ackell, 86, formerly of Frackville, died Wednesday morning at Shenandoah Manor Nursing Home, Shen- andoah.
Born in Reading Berkshire, England, on Nov. 27, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Rose Ellen Bibmead Savin.
She was a homemaker and she enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Annunciation BVM Catholic Church, Frackville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph G. Ackell, in 1995 and six brothers.
She is survived by three daughters, Valerie and her husband, John Bukowski, Frackville, Mary Ellen and her husband, James Reilly, Laurys Station, and Georgine and her husband, Walter Mankiewicz, Shenandoah Heights; a son, Robert J. and his wife, Christine Ackell, Frackville; three sisters, Gladys Chandler, Barbara Pettit and Peggy Gobel, all of England; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Annunciation BVM Catholic Church, Frackville, with Monsignor John P. Murphy officiating. Friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Albert L. Gricoski Funeral Home, Frackville, and again from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday. Interment will be in Annunciation Parish Cemetery, Frackville.
