He was raised and attended schools in Nampa, ID. At age 17, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in World War II and Korea. He was not just a marine - he belonged to the 1st Marine Division - "big difference", he used to say. He was also a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post #1173.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Doug and Nora Acree, a brother Richard "Budd" Acree, a sister Edna Mae "Chris" Foreman and his in-laws Bill and Irene McCasland.
Interment will be Feb. 17, 2006 at Veterans' Memorial Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Bowman Funeral Parlor, Garden City, ID.
The family wishes to thank Four Rivers Hospice for all their care and support in making Dad's passing done with dignity, especially his nurse, Debbie and aide Connie. In lieu of flowers, we know Dad would want you to please help the veterans.
