She was born Sept. 26, 1924, in Madison, WI, to Martin and Emma (Sale) Thorhaug. She married Clarence Aavang on Aug. 28, 1945, in Woodstock.
She farmed in the Huntley area, where she lived from 1945 until moving to Woodstock in 1980. She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Woodstock and the Home Bureau, and she enjoyed sewing and genealogy.
She is survived by her children, Terry (Sue) Aavang of Huntley, Ronald (Theresa) Aavang of Fond du Lac, WI, and Karen (Arden) Miller of Union; and her grandchildren, Emma Aavang of Fargo, ND and Rebekah Aavang of Peoria.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence in 2004; and a son, Alan Aavang.
The visitation will be from 9 a.m. Saturday, May 30, until the service at 11 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 1300 Kishwaukee Valley Road, Woodstock, IL. Intermant will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Woodstock, IL.
