Veda Marie Anderson was born November 2, 1930 in Winfield, Kansas, one of five children born to Frank and Lela (McGuire) Loskot. After high school she worked in downtown Wichita for Spines Department Store and spoke frequently of her time there. During this time she attended WSU, earning a degree in accounting.

On August 16, 1952 she married Myron E. Anderson in Wichita, Kansas. They moved to Idaho where this union was blessed with two children: Laurie and Michael.

The family made their home in Wichita where Veda was the first female supervisor in the Wichita postal service. They moved from Wichita to Attica, where she worked as the postmaster until retiring.

Veda was a tiger, a true tiger. She was sweet, yet she was a realist, and truly a great woman. She believed in living a good life and being a good human being, practicing this in her selflessness, fierce loyalty and dedication to her family and friends. She was a member of the American Civil Liberty's Union and the National Democratic Party.

On January 4, 2011, Veda passed away at her home in Anthony. This day the world lost a good democrat and the best mother anyone could wish for. She was preceded in death by her husband, Myron on May 31, 2005; her father, Frank Loskot; mother, Lela Mark; brothers: Frank and Stan; and one sister, Wilma Willis.

She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Laurie Whobrey and husband Larry of Melbourne Village, Florida; her son, Michael Anderson and wife Faith of Anthony; brother, Myrl Loskot of Kingman, KS; six grandchildren: Zachary Anderson, Jacklynn Anderson, Madalyn Anderson, Sunni Whobrey, Trey Whobrey and Larissa Schardien and husband Ben; great grandchildren: Brecklyn, Kemper, and Beckett; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Veda touched many lives and made many people laugh. Her family will always remember her and be thankful for all the great qualities she instilled in them.

Veda's philosophy on life "I believe if there is a Heaven and Hell, it is right here on earth. So live every day of your life like it could be your last one. Never stop telling those you love that you love them. Advice for a successful life: work or study hard, keep your honor, and laugh a lot."
