She came to Florida from Coffeeville, Yalobusha County, Mississippi, about 1858 with her husband, George Washington Allison, 7 children, her parents, Robert Bolling Chambliss and Nancy Northington Chambliss, and an extended group of relatives. The group traveled in covered wagons and 6 out of the original 8 wagons arrived safely. She and George settled in Suwannee County, Florida and were the parents of 12 children, the last 4 were born in Florida. She was educated in Virginia and was a teacher before she married.
