Rev. Edmund Baumgarten died peacefully Tuesday April 22, 2003 at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. He was born on May 6, 1913 in Loganville, Wisconsin to W. H. and Emma (Stolte) Baumgarten. After graduating from Wartburg Theological Seminary in 1939, he served his Lord and Savior in parishes throughout Wisconsin. He married Marie Spreuer at Zion Lutheran Church in Oshkosh on October 23, 1940. He enjoyed serving his Church and community, flowers and gardening, and making latchhook rugs.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years Marie and four sons, Paul (Dee) Baumgarten of Papillion, Nebraska, Thomas (Paula Jean) Baumgarten of Marietta, Georgia, Edward Baumgarten of Oshkosh, and Jonathan (Marion) Baumgarten of River Forest, Illinois, and six grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Zion Lutheran Church on Stone Church Rd, Rt 1, Rock Springs, Wisconsin. Burial was made in St. Peter's cemetery in Loganville.
