Erby E. Whitaker Adams, 92, of 1023 W. Main St., Vevay, died Monday, May 20, 2002 at King's Daughters' Hospital.

She was born April 28, 1910, in Bedford, Ky., the daughter of John Sherman and Florence E. Tingle Whitaker. She had lived in Switzerland County since 1933, and was employed in the laundry department at the Madison State Hospital for a number of years. She was a member of the old Trinity Holiness Tabernacle in Vevay.

Surviving are one stepson, Steve Adams of Vevay; one step-granddaughter; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harrison Adams, July 10, 1995; one stepdaughter, Marcia Kay Adams, Jan. 2, 1945; one sister, Mabel Roberts; and five brothers, John Leland, Norman, Walton, Floyd and Willie Whitaker.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay, with burial in the Vevay Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Swiss Villa Aviary Fund. Cards are available at the funeral home.
