Sanko was a retired Boat Captain who passed away Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Hospice of Baton Rouge at the age 89. He was a US Army Veteran, resident of Plaquemine and a native of Centerville, La. Visiting will be at Calvary Bible Church, Centerville, La on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 from 10am until religious services at 1pm, conducted by Rev. Clyde Crappell. Interment will be at Presbyterian Cemetery, Centerville, La. He is survived by his sister, Eldora Allen of Longview, TX; brothers, Dudley Ashley, Huey Ashley, both of St. Martinville, La, and Winston Ashley of West Virginia; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Tennie Pisarello Ashley; seven sisters; and three brothers. He loved people and enjoyed telling stories.
