Motor racing driver. Born in Turin, the son of the caretaker at Fiat, Bordino began motor racing in 1908. He adopted a distinctive 'flat-out' style which resulted in him becoming one of the best three Italian drivers in the 1920s. He also raced in the USA. Mainly racing Fiat cars, in 1928 he was practising for the Targa Florio in a Bugatti T35, and when he reached Alessandria, his car struck a dog which has strayed across the road. The dog jammed the car's steering, and Bordino, flat out as ever, left the road and crashed fatally into a roadside stream.
