A Memorial Mass will be held Thursday, September 11, 2014, at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Assumption for Kena Monique Simoneaux, age 44.

A lifelong resident of Franklin, who passed away Sunday September 7, 2014, at Ochsner Baptist Hospital in New Orleans, following a lengthy illness.

Private inurnment will be held at a later date.

Survivors include her son, Keanan Ray Gauthier of Franklin; brothers, Aaron Simoneaux and his wife Nicole of Ville Platte, Marc Hebert and his wife Rhonda of Crowley; sisters, Stacy Hebert and Pat Muller of Austin, TX, and Wendy Higginbotham and her husband Boyd of Crowley; her father, Millard Simoneaux of Garden City; her step-father, Thomas Hebert, Jr. of Charenton, four nephews, six nieces, her maternal grandparents, Ray and Bertha Louviere of Jeanerette; and long time best friend, Marla Kidder Manzo.

Kena was preceded in death by her mother, Mary L. Hebert; and her paternal grandparents, Gilbert and Lillian Simoneaux.

Kena was employed at Cypress Bayou Casino for 19 years, in Cafe Bayou & Fresh where a she proudly served her customers with a beautiful smile and great conversation.
