Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame inducts Richard Dick McCloskey. Richard "Dick" McCloskey Sport: Coach Richard "Dick" McCloskey coached Hanson Memorial of Franklin for 39 years (1947-85), becoming the winningest high school football coach in Louisiana late in his career and finishing with a record of 286-141-6 (.667). His 271st victory -- on Sept. 7, 1984, 13-9 over University High of Baton Rouge -- broke the record of L.J. "Hoss" Garrett of Ruston. McCloskey coached 21 teams into the state playoffs, the last 12 in a row. His 1976 team won the Class A state title with a 13-2 record. His next best year was 11-3 in 1983 and his 1984 team reached the state semifinals. He is in the LHSAA-LHSCA Hall of Fame. He died in 1986. http://www.lasportshall.com/
