Bennie Eugene Clark, 86, of Reedsville, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2006, at his residence.

He was born on May 5, 1920, in Morgantown, a son of the late Daniel and Rachel Turner Clark.

He was a member of Burns Chapel United Methodist Church and attended Ebenezer Baptist Church.

He was a former UMWA retired coal miner, having worked most of his career in the Preston County mines and was a former employee of General Paving Co.

Bennie was involved with the Senior Citizens groups in Morgantown and Newburg.

He enjoyed working in his garden, yard, and flower beds.

He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

At the time of his death, he was survived by two daughters and spouses, Evadell and Robert Cozad of Kingwood and Peggy and Raymond Murray of Reedsville; a son, Marvin Clark of Reedsville; eight grandchildren and spouses, Paula and Rocky Colebank of Philippi, George Murray of Reedsville, Ellie and Charles Strahin of Morgantown, Goldie and Edward Dalton of Morgantown, John and Maria Stemple of NC, Tracy and Donald Holmes of TX, Sadie and David Hilling of Morgantown, and Kyle Kugel of Morgantown; sixteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Agnes Cook and husband, George, and Freda Gamble, both of Morgantown; his special friend, Talma Isner; and Dottie the dog.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marcelle Clark; grandson, Mark Stemple Kugel; and six brothers, Woodrow, Ralph, Joseph, Earnest, George and Thurl Clark.

Burial was at the Davis Cemetery.
