Mr. Barker was born February 23, 1917, in Livingston and died Sunday in a Houston hospital after a lengthy illness. He had resided in Etoile since 1968. He was a World War II veteran serving with the U. S. Navy as chief commissary steward.
He was a member of the First Lutheran Church.
