"Joseph William Beamer, One of the NC Baptist Assoc's most important and active ministers, he was the son of two pioneers of the Assoc: HK and Delcia John Beamer.
During the early period of his career one of his chief interests was in the religious education of the young people. He used his imagination and influence in helping to organize an annual Sunday School Convention, thinking that the youth must be stimulated on a joint and competitive basis as well as on collective ideas.
He was called in 1930 and he was ordained 9/16/1933. He was a substitute pastor at Mt Carmel. He was elected Pastor of that church 1936."
