Marguerite Abraham, 92, Shumway, Illinois, formerly of Willow Hill, Illinois passed away 8 January 2013 at her residence. She was born 3 November 1920 to Claude and Mabel Barkley Byrd. At the age of 20, she married her friend and neighbor, Quentin Wilson Abraham on 26 October 1940 and he preceded her in death in 1979.

Quentin and Marguerite settled near Willow Hill, Illinois where they were active members of Bethany Christian Church. Maugerite was a licensed beautician who also enjoyed gardening, travel, and crafts.

After Quentin passed away, Marguerite spent winters in Arizona with her son, Randy and later with her elementary school classmate from many years before, Aleta Higgins. As her health became guarded, Marguerite lived near Effingham, Illinois for 12 years with her daughter and family. The family appreciates the loving care that Sue's husband Harold provided for her.

Funeral services were at the Bethany Congregational Christian Church, rural Willow Hill. Burial was in Mound Cemetery. Barkley Funeral Chapel, Greenup, Illinois is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Mound Cemetery Fund or to Bethany Congregational Christian Church.
