Matthew Lionel Bruce Jr, 47, of Doniphan died Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at Ripley County Memorial Hospital.
Mr.Bruce was born Aug. 1, 1958 in Wurzberg, Germany. He was formerly of Georgia. He was a member of the Victory Christian Fellowship Church in Fairdealing. He had been employed as a laborer and truck driver.
On Feb. 14, 1987, he married Beth (Maxwell) Dewitt, mother of Matthew, Quinton, and Ashley. She survives. Later he married Tonya Bruce on July 13, 1998. She is the mother of Trey, Elisha, and Devin. She also survives.
Other survivors include four children, Michael Floyd of Hinesville, Ga. and Matthew Bruce, Quinton Bruce, and Ashley Bruce all of Doniphan; two step-children Trey Mosblech and Devin Schmidt, both of Doniphan; two sisters Rose Kelley of Longview, Texas and Elizabeth Mehalko of Allenhurst, Ga.; and one brother, Bill McCourt of Richmond, Va.
He was preceded in death by one step-daughter Elisha Schmidt.
Visitation and funeral services were held Friday, June 9 at Edwards Euneral Home Chapel in Doniphan.
