COTTAGE GROVE - The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove for Alice Louise Aldrich of Cottage Grove, who died Oct. 2 of age-related causes. She was 88. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Silverton Cemetery in Silverton. Visitation will be from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Aldrich was born June 24, 1920, in Silverton to John and Louise Atwood Brewer. She married Hugh Aldrich on April 1, 1945, in Salem.

She was a homemaker and worked in agriculture, picking beans and nuts. She graduated from Silverton High School in 1938.

Survivors include a son, Elton of Cottage Grove; a daughter, Patty Duncan of Eugene; a stepdaughter , Joan Pearson of Seattle; a brother, Don Brewer of Corvallis; four sisters, Violet Moore of Portland, Ruth Catterson and Frances Potter of Salem and Dorothy Lockard of Beaverton; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and three great-great-great-grandchildren. Her husband died July 4, 1996.
