OBITUARY: Ms. Alm was born Dec. 23, 1905, in Silverton. She graduated from the University of Oregon and later earned a master's degree from the University of Idaho. She also attended the Poitier Institute in France. She taught English literature and music at Cleveland, Girls Polytechnic and Grant high schools, retiring in 1971.
Survivors include her sister-in-law, Juanita Alm; and nephews, Lester Davis, Dick Alm and Rollin Alm.
