OBITUARY
Melvin W. Anacker, 83, of Toms River died yesterday in Community Medical Center, Toms River.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords. Entombment in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Mr. Anacker was employed with the finishing department at E.I. DuPont, Sayreville, for 25 years before retiring in 1980. Previously, he had been employed General Motors, Linden.
He played semi-pro football with the Golden Bears, Woodbridge, and was inducted into the Woodbridge Township Athletic Alumni Association Hall of Fame.
Mr. Anacker also was a coach for the Clara Barton Little League.
Born in Perth Amboy, he lived in Edison before moving to Toms River in 1984.
Surviving are Gladys, his wife of 60 years; a daughter, Mrs. Janice Panconi; sons, Ronald R., Mark and Robert; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

FORDS — Miss Gladys B. Liddle, daughter of Mrs. Helga Liddle, of 128 Liberty Street, and Melvin William Anacker, son of Mr. and Mrs. August Anacker, of 177 Liberty Street, were married during a quiet marriage ceremony performed in the First Presbyterian Church, Perth Amboy, recently.
