Henry Anderson, was Fords postmaster, is dead at age 91
EDISON- Henry G. Anderson, a former Fords postmaster, died Thursday at Roosevelt Hospital in Edison. He was 91.
He was born in Perth Amboy and had lived in Edison for the past 35 years.
Mr. Anderson worked in the postal system for 48 years and was postmaster in Fords before retiring in 1967.
He was a member and elder of the First Presbyterian Church in Perth Amboy.
He was also a member of the Raritan Lodge 61 of the Free and Accepted Masons in Perth Amboy.
He was a member of the Letter Carriers Association.
He was an honorary member of the Fords Fire Co., Raritan Engine Co. No. 2 and the South River Fire Department.
His wife, Esther Christensen Anderson, died in 1988.
Funeral services will be held at noon Monday at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow by members of the First Presbyterian Church of Perth Amboy.
Entombment will follow at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens.
Contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund in Perth Amboy.
