Lifelong Staten Islander Antoinette Abate , 88, of Oakwood, a homemaker, died Tuesday in Eger Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Egbertville, where she had resided since December.
Born Antoinette Socci in West Brighton, she settled in Oakwood in 1952.
Mrs. Abate was a parishioner of St. Charles R.C. Church, Oakwood.
She enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Abate 's husband of 53 years, Michael Sr., died in 2001.
Surviving are her son, Michael J.; five brothers, Anthony (Jigs), Larry, Joseph, Arthur (Artie) and Nicholas (Nicky) Socci; a sister, Anna Socci, and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be tomorrow from the Colonial Funeral Home, New Dorp, with a mass at 9:15 a.m. in St. Charles Church. Entombment will follow in Woodbridge (N.J.) Memorial Gardens.
