Services for Gerald Sherwood Baxley, 86, of Alba, Texas, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 15, 2016, at Enon Baptist Church, with Bro. Reggie Day officiating.

Burial will be in Enon Cemetery, Alba, under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.

Mr. Baxley passed away Monday, Feb. 8, 2016, at his residence in Alba.

He was born Saturday, Dec. 21, 1929, in Johnsonville, S.C., to the late Freeman Perry and Margaret Powell Baxley. He was in the Air Force where he served as a surgical technician. He was a master mechanic and worked for Salt River Project Power Plant in Page, Arizona, on Lake Powell for 20 years. He moved to Alba in 1998. He was a member of Enon Baptist Church, Alba.

Survivors include his sons, Freeman Nelson Baxley, of Louisiana, Gerald T. Baxley, of Michigan, and Grady Baxley, of Texas; daughters, Tammy Banfill and husband Dennis, and Kathryn M. Baxley, all of Alba; two grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and wives, Leila Baxley, Sarah Baxley, and Peggy Baxley.

Pallbearers are Daniel Banfill, Stephen Banfill, Warren Banfill, Anthony Banfill, Freeman Baxley, and Gerald T. Baxley.

Visitation will be at the funeral home 6-8 p.m. Sunday.
