Grace Edna Allen
Grace Edna Allen, 97, formerly of Asheville, died Tuesday, April 4, 2006, in Elizabethton, Tenn.
Mrs. Allen was born in Madison County and was the daughter of the late James and Ida Bryan Payne. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Hampton Allen, in 1960, and Winfred Craft, in 1982. She was a former resident of Detroit and Washington, D.C., before returning to Asheville in 1985. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Surviving are her daughter, Rose M. Cox of Ocala, Fla., grandchild, Laura Jean Gullett and sister, Bernice Hart of Elizabethton.
The graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory by the Rev. Robert L. Jackson.
