Asheville - Dorothea "Dot" Mae Clubb Allen, 58, of 24 Elizabeth St., died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, at the John F. Keever Jr. Solace Center after an extended illness.

A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a member of the Does of the Elk Club and an avid bingo player. She was a daughter of the late Richard Allyn Morris and Minnie Vester Clubb Blankenship. She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert DeWayne Allen.

Surviving are her husband of 37 years, Robert Allen of the home; sons, Richard Taylor of the home, Chris Taylor and wife, Julie, of Woodfin and Joey Allen and wife, Kathleen, of Weaverville; sisters, Sue Chandler of Asheville and Marie Rice of Swannanoa; four grandchildren, Randy and Tony Frady and Joseph and Sharon Allen; and several nieces and nephews. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend and will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Homer Moore officiating.

Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.
