Thursday [June 24, 1982] following a long illness.
Funeral services were to be held Saturday at 2:00 in the Shiloh United Methodist
Church by the Rev. Vance Way. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The
family will be at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. A. Harvey
"Dick" Best.
Mrs. Best was a native of Hyde County and had lived in Stumpy Point most of her
life. She was a member of the Shiloh United Methodist Church.
She was the daughter of the late Henry and Mrs. Nancy Pledger Cuthrell and wife
of the late William Albert Best.
Surviving are two daughters: Mrs. Mable Payne and Mrs. Irene Wise, both of
Stumpy Point; two sons: Harvey E. best of Stumpy Point and W.A. Best, Jr. of
Greensboro, N.C.; 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
