Mr. Adams was born October 17, 1921 in Surry County to the late Aquilla Porter and Alice McGee Adams.
He was a farmer and retired from Spencer's Inc.
Mr. Adams was also a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons: Jerry Adams and Michael William Adams, both of Mount Airy; a granddaughter, Lorrie Nicole Adams of Mount Airy; a sister, Ruth Carrico of Hopewell, VA; three nieces: Carolyn Adams, Faye Bailey, and Anita Hardy; three nephews: Ricky Carrico, Marty Carrico, and Robert Adams; and several other nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his wife, Maude Creed Adams; and two brothers: Gaston Adams and Weldon Adams. The funeral service will be held Monday, December 1, 2008, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Don Fellows officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens, with military honors by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard.
