Dr. Emerson Mohr Albright, 83, of Troy, N.C., formerly of Allentown, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, in Montgomery Memorial Hospital, Troy.


He was the husband of Sara B. Albright and Ruth (Cooper) Albright, who died in 1990.


An optometrist, he had a practice in Troy for 41 years. Previously, he was employed by Linden Optical, Allentown.


Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Charles H. Sr. and Elsie (Mohr) Albright.


He was a member of First Baptist Church, Troy, and a past president of the Lehigh County Christian Endeavor Union.


An Army veteran of World War II, he served in a tank destroyer unit of General Patton's 3rd Army in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge.


Survivors: Wife; brothers, the Rev. Malcolm W. of Bethlehem and Charles H. Jr. of Hagerstown, Md.; sister, Marion A. of Allentown, a stepdaughter, three stepsons and a stepbrother.


Memorial services: Were held in the church. Arrangements, Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, Troy.
