MATHEWS - Mary J. Armistead, 76, died Tuesday, May 2, at her residence at Hudgins.
A native of Mathews, she was a member of Mathews Baptist Church, Hudgins, and Oriental Chapter 30, Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include two daughters, Ellena Marie Armistead of Hudgins and Betty Fern Armistead Hayes of Atlanta; and two grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in H. C. Smither Cemetery, Hudgins, by the Rev. Edward A. Inabinet.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society or a favorite charity.
