Clemon Anger, 82, of Midland, died Saturday evening July 13, 2002, at the Mid-Michigan Medical Center in Midland. He was born Jan. 4, 1920, in Ingersoll township, son of the late Ocie E. (Allspaugh) and William T. Anger, and married the former Margery M. Sinclair on Sept. 2, 1949, in Midland.

Clemon served with the Michigan National Guard and was called into service with the 177th Field Artillery Battalion during WWII. He was awarded a bronze Star for his service with the Third Army in Europe and received five battle stars, of which included his unit's involvement in the Battle of the Bulge in Bastogne.

He was a member of Centre Lodge No. 273 and the Bay City Consistory, Elf Khurafeh Temple, Midland Woodworkers Association, and the Country Punkins Band. After retirement, Clem stayed active doing what he enjoyed; woodworking, music, and fishing.

In addition to his wife, Margery, he is survived by a son, Kim L. (Kimberly) Anger of North Richland Hills, Texas; and daughter, Barbara (Edward) Kerns of Midland. Grandchildren Steffanie (Joe) Kavanaugh of White Settlement, Texas, Ken Kerns of Midland, Stacy Anger of North Richland Hills, Texas, Amy Kerns of Midland, Christie Shuster of Ames, Iowa, Mike Schuster of Norman, Okla., Katie Anger and Kelli Anger, both of North Richland Hills, Texas. He is also survived by a sister Edith Carlson; and brothers Lee (Lil) Anger all of Midland; sisters-in-law Louise Anger of Midland and Ethyl Anger of Florida.

Clem was predeceased by brothers Elroy 'Bill' Anger and Thomas Anger; sister Ellen (Harold) Short of Midland; and Brother-in-law Roy Carlson.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday July 16, 2002, at 1 p.m. from the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Chapel, 1200 W. Wheeler St. The Rev. Terry Turner will officiate, with military honor's to be presented by the Midland County Veterans. Interment will follow in Homer Township Cemetery.
