Nancy A. Adamets, 69, of Midland, died early Sunday morning, April 11, 2010, at her home. She was born on June 5, 1940, in Bay Vity, daughter of the late Walter and Dorothy (Landon) Woodard. Nancy was raised in Midland, attending Midland Schools, graduating from Midland High School in 1958. She grew up attending Homer United Methodist Church, gaining many life long friends there. She attended Bay City School of Business and then went on to raise her children for many years before beginning her 28 year career as a Para-Educator with MCESA. Her contributions to the special needs community will be forever remembered in the countless lives she touched as a life coach, care provider and friend to those in her "chosen family." Nancy's final years were spent helping to raise her grandsons, Aidan and Gavin. Surviving are her children, Teresa (Cary) Zeschke, Rick (Kimberly) Zimmer, and Jodee Adamets ( Jeff Shields); and other family members, Kay Adamets, Janelle (Howard) Merrillat, and Jim (Karen) Adamets..; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and brothers and sister, Don ( Sharon) Woodard, Walt C. Woodard, and Marily (Dave) Dumont. In addition to her parents, two sons, Wiilliam Zimmer Jr. and Michael J. Zimmer all predeceased her. Funeral services took place at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 15, 2010 from the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 1200 W. Wheeler St. The Rev. Dan Dickerson of Calvary Baptist Church officiated, with burial in Homer Township Cemetery. Nancy's family received friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3-5 and 6-8 p.m., Thursday from 1 p.m. Until the time of service. source: Midland Daily News
