Alice Susan Acvedo-Butler was born on February 24, 1957 to Jorge and Alice Acevedo in Brooklyn, NY. She later moved to The Bronx, NY, with her parents and brother, George Acevedo, where she grew up and went to Lehman High School. She had two daughters: Lisa Betancourt born in 1983 and Rosalia Lowe born in 1986. She had a beloved grandson, Thomas Austin Lowe III, born in 2011.
