Robert L. Adkison, age 68, of Holt, Fla., died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, at his home.
He was born in Niceville, Fla., and was a lifelong resident of Okaloosa County, Fla. Mr. Adkison was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Adkison of Holt; sons, Thomas Robinson of Crestview, Fla., Donnie L. Adkison of Crestview, and Billy Lied of Jacksonville, Fla.; daughters, Ruby Robinson Averett, Victoria McWaters, Jessie Bell, Daisy Johnson, all of Alabama, Audray Piterski of Jacksonville, and Lisa Bix of Pompano Beach, Fla.; brother, Donnie Adkison of Holt; sister, Betty Foreman of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; and 24 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McLaughlin Chapel in Crestview. A service of remembrance will be conducted at 7 p.m. at the chapel with Chaplain Frank Dole and Pastor Chuck Chapman officiating. Inurnment will take place at Live Oak Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Florida.
