Daniel Ray Arbogast, 39, of Arthurdale, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, at Ruby Memorial Hospital after a long battle with acute lyphocytic leukemia.
He was born Nov. 16, 1962, in Oakland, Md., a son of the late Junior Paul Arbogast and Rolena Stemple Arbogast.
He was a member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church of Kingwood. He graduated from Rowlesburg High School in 1982. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 66. He was employed by Layne Christensen Co., Ruther Glen, Va., as a supervisor for the drilling and grouting division.
He was the husband of Cheryl Ann Greathouse Arbogast and the proud father of Brandon Daniel Arbogast, of Arthurdale. He is also survived by five brothers, Bradley and spouse Kay Stemple, of Morgantown, Larry Arbogast, of Vero Beach, Fla., Nelson Arbogast, of Indianapolis, Darrell and spouse Patty Arbogast, of Aurora, and Brian and spouse Shawna Albright, of Morgantown; five sisters and spouses, Marion and David Maynard, of Medina, Ohio, Angie and Mike Wolf, of Kingwood, Lisa and James Jones, of Centerville, Ind., Donna and Mark Freeman, of New Castle, Ind., and Sonya and Billy Evans, of Waynesboro, Va.; a grandfather, Leo Stemple, of Aurora; several nieces and nephews, Rosie and Eddie Goff, Amy and Mike Welsh, Tony Arbogast, Eric andVerne Arbogast, Shannon Stieringer, Shane Arbogast, Brian Austin Albright, Misty Katon and Chad Hosta, David and Linc Maynard, Jamie Teets and Randy Stull, Suelle and Roger Lightner, Monica Jones, Gwen and Erin Taggart; and several great-nieces and nephews, Forrest, Ryan and Kaylee Wagner, Zoe Goff, Alexis Welsh, Blake Hosta, Damien and Shyanna Uphold. He was also loved and will be remembered by his extended family: Father and mother-in-law, Moody and Jean Greathouse, of Arthurdale, and the following brothers- and sisters-in-law: Vicki and Randy Thorn, Kingwood, Cathy and Jeff Zinn, of Arthurdale, Mark and Pat Greathouse, Masontown, and Michael and Pam Greathouse, of Morgantown; several nieces and nephews on his in-laws side, Toby and Theresa Hall and great-nephew, Mason Ray Hall, Jenny and Jeromy Garlits and soon-to-be-great-niece, Tori Danielle Garlits, Chandra Thorn and Pat Weaver, Amelia Zinn and Wes Goldstrom, Stacy Zinn, Carrie and Mikey "Bub" Greathouse, and Cheryl and Nicole Ryan and Alex Greathouse. He will be especially remembered and loved by his dear loving niece, Jenny Hall Garlits, who was with him from the beginning until the end of his illness.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Hazel Stemple; and a brother-in-law, Ronnie Teets.
Family and friends may call at Morgans Funeral Home, W.Va 7 East, Reedsville, on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday, Jan. 11, 2002, from 3-9 p.m. Funeral services will be officiated by Father Alan W. Jenks on Saturday, Jan. 12, at noon. Burial will be in Arthurdale Cemetery.
