He was born, along with his late twin brother, Ronald, on Aug. 26, 1926, to the late Edward Harrison and Daisy Ellen DeWitt Albright, of Kingwood.
Donald enjoyed the simple things in life. He fed the birds, squirrels and rabbits. He created beautiful perennial gardens and aviaries around the home he shared with Lavina (most know her as Beanie). He played his guitar and sang gospel and country music his whole life. He last serenaded his friends at Sundale Nursing Home. He is known best in his later years because he loved to repair lawn mowers for friends, relatives and neighbors.
In his working days, he was employed by the Sterling Faucet Co. and Rockwell International.
Donald leaves behind his loving wife, Lavina "Beanie"; a daughter, Donna Davis and her husband, David, of Reedsville; his grandchildren, Michael Loughry, of Lake Okeechobee, Fla., David Davis and his wife, Megan, of Charles Town, Danni Davis and her husband, Justin, of Baltimore, Kristin Roberts and her husband, Bill, of Boring, Md., and Nicholas Lynham, of Owings Mills, Md.; a sister, Ruby Turner, of Heartland of Preston County, Kingwood; a brother, William and wife, Marie, of Jacksonville, Fla.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Eleanor and Sherl Walls, of Atlanta; along with the great-grandchildren that he so dearly loved, Victoria, Billy and Holly Roberts, Ava Davis, stepgrandson Matthew Davis, many nieces and nephews, his dog Buttons, and his newest and best friend, Kenneth "Doc" Cross, his roommate at Sundale.
Donald was preceded in death by his daughter, Carol Lynham, in 2006; parents, Edward and Daisy Albright; a twin brother, Ronald; an infant sister, Loni; sisters Kathleen Fizer, Nettie Lee Mary Shay and Charlotte Ann Sypolt; a brother, Charles Albright; sister-in-law, Juanita Albright; brothers-in-law, Charles Lee, Glenn Shay and Robert Sypolt; niece, Diane Collins; nephews, Bob Lee and Randy Walls, and many cousins, aunts and uncles, his mother-in-law and father-inlaw, Francis and Inez Kern.
Burial will be in the Arthurdale Community Cemetery.
