CLARKSBURG,WEST VIRGINIA -- Miss Katherine A. Abernathy, of 320 Tyler Ave., Clarksburg, W.Va., died Friday, Feb. 13, 1998, in the United Hospital Center following an extended illness.

She was born in Clarksburg, a daughter of the late William G. Abernathy and Anna May Kight Abernathy.

Surviving are several cousins.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Marion and Louise Abernathy.

Miss Abernathy was a member of the Broad Oaks United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Mary Reed Sunday School Class and the Women's Society. She retired from the Hope Gas Company with many years of service. She also was a volunteer for the Clarksburg Mission.

Friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 East Main Street, Clarksburg, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, where a funeral service will be held on Monday, Feb. 16, 1998, at 11 a.m. with the Reverend K. Almond presiding. Interment will be in the Bridgeport Cemetery.

Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, Clarksburg, is in charge of the arrangements.
