Allen Earl Austin, 84, of 1130 Charles Avenue, Morgantown, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2007, at his home. He was born in Morgantown on January 6, 1923, a son of the late Albert S. and Jessie Lantz Austin. He was the quality control foreman for Sterling Faucet. Allen is survived by a son, Anthony "A.J." Austin, at home; three grandchildren, Aaron and wife, Cynthia, Cox of Morgantown, Amy Cox of Morgantown, and Tiffany Floyd of Fairmont; six great-grandchildren, Donnie Ziegler, Paige Protzman, Parker Floyd, Cody Stevens, Lauren Cox and Rachel Cox; two brothers-in-law, Lewis R. Shaffer and wife Ella Reeve of Cumberland, MD, and Terry Shaffer and wife Diana of Morgantown; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lavena Shaffer Austin, and daughter, Sandra Kay Jones. Following a private visitation at the funeral home, a graveside service was held at Pleasant Hills Cemetery with the Rev. Kevin Cain officiating.
