Frank A. Anastasia Jr. of Patterson, New York, died unexpectedly in Danbury, CT, on Wed. August 1, 2012 at the age of 78.
He was born Feb. 21, 1934 in New York, NY, son of the late Frank and Angelina (Errico) Anastasia.
On May 14, 1954 he married Mary Gerani in Holy Rosary Church in Manhattan. He then left to serve with the Navy on the Intrepid for three years. They moved to Patterson forty years ago were they became members of Sacred Heart Church. Mr. Anastasia also was a member of the VFW Post 9257 in Putnam Lake, a past member of the American Legion Post in Patterson, a member of the Knights of Columbus Fr. Breen Council in Putnam Lake and retired after thirty years as a custodian supervisor with the Brewster Central School District.
Besides his wife Mary of Patterson he is survived by his three sons; Frank and Anthony Anastasia of Patterson, Daniel Anastasia of Brewster, NY, a brother Ralph Anastasia of Danbury, CT, two grandchildren Amy and Lisa and a great grandchild Sophia. He was predeceased by his son Michael in 1990.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Sat. Aug. 4, 2012, 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church in Putnam Lake. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence O'Toole Cemetery in Brewster, NY. The wake will be held today Fri. from 4 to 8 pm at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave., Brewster, NY 10509.
Contributions in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
