MARIA LUISA AGUILAR
AUG. 21, 1950 - JUNE 13, 2016
Maria Luisa Aguilar was born in Churintzio, Michoacan on August 21, 1950 to Angelo Francisco Zapien and Feliberta Gallegos Barbosa Zapien. Maria is the widow of Constantino Garibay Aguilar. Maria passed away in the early morning on June 13, 2016. Maria was surrounded by all of her immediate family and friends. Maria fought a short yet courageous battle with lung cancer and through her fight she never lost her faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Maria was a woman of faith and family. She was not only a mom to her three children, but a mother to all who she encountered. Maria's strong Catholic faith brought others to learn and know our Lord and was the rock of the Aguilar family and many other families whom she adopted.
Maria found joy in comforting others, while breaking bread with her friends and talking about life. She was incredibly generous with her time, resources and love. Ultimately, what made Maria so special was the sacrifices she always made to comfort others in their time of need. She always put others first, even when she was not feeling well. Maria's passion was being with her nine grandchildren, which she referred to as her little angels.
Maria is survived by her three children, Ana Boyenga, Constantino Aguilar, and Brenda Reyna; two son-in-laws Curtis Boyenga and Elias Reyna, daughter in-law Julianne Aguilar; nine grandchildren; Hunter and Ella Boyenga, Charles, Tessa, and Emma Aguilar, and Jared, Jaylen, Andres and Elisa Reyna.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Wilson Family Funeral home in Atwater. The viewing will be at the Wilson Family Funeral home in Atwater on Friday June 17th from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM followed by a rosary at St. Anthony's Church in Atwater at 7:30 PM.
