Clyde Ammons was a resident of West Virginia for his early life; most of his life was spent in Greene County. He was a member of the Mount Morris United Methodist Church, Mount Morris Senior Citizens, James T. Maxon American Legion Post 992 of Mount Morris, and Waynesburg V.F.W. 4793. He was a former member of the Mount Morris Lions Club, a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army Air Corps as a radar technician. He worked for several years for Valley Camp Coal Company, on TVs and radios. In 1966, with William Barnhart, started Clear Cable Co., in Waynesburg. He retired in 1980

Corporal Albert C. Ammons "Clic" is a radio mechanic with the U. S. armed forces. He received his training at Fort Meade, Maryland. Greensborough, NC, Madison, Wisconsin, Canute Field, Illinois Boca Raton, Florida Camp Kilmore, NJ and spent sixteen months in this training. His overseas duties took him to Glasgow, Scotland, Warrington and Cottagemore, England, Amiens, Abbeville, Ruene, Havre, France, and also to the Trinidad Island. From there he flew to Miami, Florida. his wife was Virginia, a daughter of Arza and Amanda Brewer of Pentress, WV. (1945 J. Ross Tennant, Memories)
