Charles J. Allen, 87, of 314 McKinley street, Janesville resident since 1930, died at 1 a.m. Monday in Mercy hospital. He had been in falling health for the past two years and was re-admitted to the hospital Saturday. Mr. Allen, whose ancestors came to Wisconsin from Ohio, was born Oct 10, 1864, in Green county. Mr. Allen was a member of First Congregational Church, Odd Fellows No. 1, Mineral Point, and of Modem Woodmen of America. Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Homer J. Ludden and Mrs. E. W. Rost; and three grandsons. A grandson, Pfc. William Rost was killed in action in Belgium Oct 26, 1944. Services will be at 2 p. m. Wednesday in Mineral Point Congregational church, the Rev. H. C. Kimmel, Janesville, officiating. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery. Overton funeral home served the family.
