Nils Adolphson, age 72, of Monroe, Wisc., died on Friday, April 4, 2003, at Monroe Clinic Hospital. He was born on April 3, 1931, in Alliance, Ohio, the son of Gustav and Sophie (White) Adolphson. He graduated from Alliance High School and Michigan State University. Nils entered the United State Air Force on Aug. 7, 1951, in Canton, Ohio, and served as an Air Traffic Control Operator. He received the National Defense Service Medal, ROKPUCE Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Korean Service Medal, United States Service Medal, and was separated at Parks Air Force Base in California on July 15, 1955, as a Staff Sergeant.
He worked for the Liquor Commission for the State of Michigan and worked for The Swiss Colony at the Monroe Facility as Plant Manager and Master Production Planner from August 1974 until retirement in March 1997. Nils and Chris Korback were married on May 24, 1997, in Monroe. He was a Monroe alderman for 10 years, currently on the planning commission, was a volunteer at Abraham Lincoln School as a tutor in reading and math, and was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #754. He enjoyed golfing, socializing and being with people in general.
