Son of George Washington Albee and Mary Ann Kettring. His death actually occurred at the Columbia Hospital in Milwaukee where he had sought treatment. In 1913, Madison was united in marriage to Louise T. Hanson of White Bear Lake, Minn. Their children, all born in Shell Lake, Wisconsin, were: Mary Ellen, b. 1914; Theodore G., b. 14 May 1915, died 21 Dec 1944; & Robert B. Albee, b. 1918. Madison and Louise are buried in the Madison Albee Family plot in Lot 14B of the Shell Lake Cemetery with their son Theodore and their son-in-law, Marvin A. Lemke. Obituary in part: Attending high school at Pipestone, Minn., he returned to his native state to attend Cornell College at Cornell, Iowa. Later he spent about seven years in the west.
In 1911 he came to Shell Lake and purchased the local telephone exchange, which he conducted until 1916. In 1913 he was married to Miss Louise Hanson of White Bear lake, Minnesota.
Following the sale of his telephone exchange in 1916, he built and owned a lumber yard, which he later sold to the Olcott Lumber Co. He also conducted a farm implement business from 1911 until the time of his demise. He was secretary-treasurer of the Shell Lake Farm Loan Ass'n., and during the past year was also secretary-treasurer of the Washburn Co., Mutual Farm Loan Ass'n.
