Catherine Felch Badger was born on February 7, 1715, probably in Reading, Middlesex County, Massachusetts to Samuel Felch and Katherine Smith. Catherine married famous artist Joseph Badger, Sr., the son of Stephen Badger and Mercy Kettel Badger, on June 2, 1731 in Cambridge, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, and they had eight children: Joseph; Samuel; Joseph, Jr.; Daniel; William; Elizabeth; Benjamin; and Hannah. While most of her children remained in Massachusetts, two moved to South Carolina. One of the descendants of those who left for South Carolina was her great-granddaughter Mary Amelia Louisa Badger Murrow.

Catherine and Joseph were members of the Brattle Street Congregational Church. She predeceased her husband when she died in 1748 at age 33 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. She is buried near him in the Kings Chapel Burying Ground in Boston. Kings Chapel began as an Anglican Church.
