Historian, Author. A Lieutenant in the United States Army, he retired from the United States Military Intelligence branch. An amateur Irish genealogist, author, forensic historian and tour guide, he wrote extensively on military history specializing in the architecture of military fortresses. His best known work was "The Battle of Brooklyn 1776". His grave is located appropriately enough on Battle Hill in Green-Wood Cemetery.
