Pope. Born Umberto Crivelli, was pope from 1185 to 1187.He had to fight harsh battles with Barbarossa particularly after the marriage between Barbarossa's son and the daughter of Roger of Sicily. His last days were saddened by fear for the Holy City of Jerusalem. Urban III died suddenly at Ferrara on receiving the news that Saladin had entered Jerusalem.
