Member of the Lewis family, "The First Family of Bluegrass Gospel Music." Although Pauline "Mom" Lewis never went onstage with the rest of the group, but she is very much responsible for their success because she always travelled with the family to support them. In 2002, she was given the "Miss Ina" award for her kindness and support of their musical contribution. Pauline married "Pop" Lewis on October 25, 1925 at the age of 15. They had 8 children (but one died at age 4) who grew up to become the well-known bluegrass group The Lewis Family.
